Snap, Shoot and Share – A Winners Story
We know community groups are busy – and finding time to enter competitions can feel like one more thing on the list – but this story from a recent Snap, Shoot and Share winner shows just how much of a difference that extra funding can make.
Jenny Crawford, CEO of Wellbeing Plus, said: “It felt amazing to win this additional funding. As a person that never wins anything ever it was a real buzz to win the money for our groups.
“Running a charity and searching for funding is no easy task, but we have been fortunate enough to receive funding from your organisation among others and this has helped us to grow from strength to strength.”
Their £500 winnings were spent on craft materials – card, glue, embellishments, fabrics and 3D model kits. They now run 11 craft groups every week, with more in the pipeline as their community grows.
Any funding Wellbeing Plus receives has a direct impact on the people they support – helping them offer a friendly, welcoming space for people who may have nowhere else to go. Participants create craft projects to take home, build friendships, feel part of their community and enjoy a better quality of life.
Jenny added: “I would recommend you guys to everyone. Especially for your beneficiaries to submit some photos of their groups into your prize draw. I never expected to win but everyone was chuffed to bits when we did.”
If your group has received Tees Foundation funding, we’d love to see your photos or videos for the next Snap, Shoot and Share draw.
Thank you, Wellbeing Plus, for sharing your story.
