Linda has been an integral part of the Tees Foundation family – not just a colleague, but a constant source of kindness, calm, and care.
Her retirement marks the end of an era, and while we’re so excited for her next chapter, it’s safe to say that things won’t be quite the same without her.
Our CEO, Hugh McGouran, shared some words that reflect what many of us feel:
“We’re all saying goodbye and good luck to Linda, who has been the cornerstone of the Foundation for many years, and part of our family for 26 years. To say she’ll be missed is an understatement; her contribution to the Foundation and the wider voluntary sector cannot be measured. We all wish her good fortune for this next phase of her life – we miss you already, Linda!”
Linda’s calm presence, wealth of knowledge, and tireless support have been a guiding light to so many of us. She’s helped support the Foundation through milestones and challenges alike, with her gentle nature and loyalty.
Here’s what a few of the team had to say as we reflect on our time with her:
Sarah said:
“It’s been an honour to work with Linda – since the very first day I started working for the Foundation 15 years ago, I’ve loved working with you. It’s been the best time! Good luck for a happy retirement!”
Hayley added:
“I have loved working with Linda. I joined the Foundation in 2012 and she instantly made me feel really welcome. She has a lovely, gentle, maternal nature. Being such a small team, we are super tight-knit, and Linda’s retirement leaves a big hole. I hope she will keep in touch and pop in regularly to see us.”
And from Jonelle, who now takes on the role of finance manager:
“Linda, I’m over the moon for you, and devastated all at the same time. You have been the best colleague, but above all, become a wonderful friend. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and we’ve laughed until we’ve cried! I couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful-natured lady to have spent the last 11 years of my working life with. It’s been an absolute pleasure. I hope your retirement is all you’ve wished it would be, and you and Martin live life to the absolute fullest. Enjoy your lie-ins and your well-deserved teas in bed. Love you lots. x”
Linda, you’ve left an indelible mark on us all. Your years of service speak volumes, but it’s your warmth and wisdom that we will carry with us the most. Thank you for everything you’ve done – not just for the Foundation, but for each of us personally.
From everyone at Tees Foundation – congratulations on your retirement, Linda. You’ve earned every moment of rest, joy, and adventure that lies ahead.
Please don’t be a stranger – the kettle will always be on!
